     The Fann Mountains is the name of a mountain massif, which forms part of the Pamir-Alai and is situated in the very heart of Central Asia, 200 km to the East from Samarkand.

     The Fann Mountains boast more than ten peaks with the height of over 5000 meters. Beautiful Mt. Chimtarga (5487m asl) is the highest peak in the area.

     The banks of numerous crystal-clear lakes are overgrown with the forest of relic archa-tree, which can be found only here. The trunks of the archa-tree wound into a spiral by severe winter winds, produce an unforgettable impression by their fancy forms.

     The Fann Mountains presents great possibilities for trek and climbing programs from a simple to the most difficult grade. And our own International Mountaineer Tourist  Center “Vertical-Alaudin” gives tourists the possibility of having a nice and comfortable rest before, between, after active parts of your tour.

     IMTC “Vertical-Alaudin” is situated in the very heart of the Fann Mountains, in appr 7 hours of driving from Samarkand (last 2hours – mountain road). We offer at IMTC: three cottages (three rooms in each, electricity, shower (electrical heater), WC in the cottage), mountain restaurant, medical service, rescue team service, transport, donkeys and donkey “drivers” for treks and transportation of equipment information, etc.

    You can get the region from different places.

• From Samarkand - "The Pearl of East" - famous Uzbekian city, full of fairy-tales and beauty. We meet you in airport of Samarkand and help with crossing the border between Uzbekistan and Tajiskistan on the road to the Fanns. En route you will visit ancient city Penjikent, famous from the Sogdiana times
• From Khudjand - that is Tajikian city and you do not need to cross the border from Uzbekistan. Driving is along mountain road through the pass Shahristan
• From Dushanbe - the capital of Tajikistan. Road goes through the pass Anzob

To visit Tajikistan all foreign citizens need to obtain Tajikian visa. We provide you with visa support for 20$ per pax and you can obtain Tajikian visa in the local Consulate of Tajikistan, or in Moscow, in Tashkent, or on arrival in airport in Dushanbe. Cost of not urgent visa for the period more than 15 days is 60 USD.
