Import and export of goods and currency. Customs rules and regulations.
It is not allowed to export from Russia any piece of art and antiques produced before 1945. The items of graphics, painting, applied art etc. prodused after 1945 need special authorization from the Commission for Control over Export and Import of Cultural Values, irrespective of the form of their acquisition. Souvenirs, including folk handcrafts, need no permission, but it will be helpful to keep the receipts, labels and pay-in cheques.
The import of foreign currency is not restricted unlike the export that is limited to the sum fixed in the customs declaration on entering the country.
It is also advisable to put into the customs declaration the list of antiques and works of art imported, to avoid any confusion at the departure from Russia.
