This is a unique complex incorporating art and history museums: the architectural ensemble of Sobornaya Square with Uspensky Cathedral (1475-1479, architect - A.Fioravanti); Arkhangelsky Cathedral - a magnificent specimen of medieval architecture which served as a burial-place of Grand Princes of Moscow, tsars of the Rurikovich dynasty and the first tsars of the Romanov dynasty; Blagoveschensky Cathedral - a home temple of the Grand Princes of Moscow and later on, of the Russian tsars.

A unique collection of monumental painting of the epoch of Ivan the Terrible and icons painted by Feofan Grek and Andrey Rublev, the permanent exhibition of Russian wooden sculpture, rare historical and cultural monuments of the 17th century, ancient state regalia, tsars' apparels and coronation dress and vestments of hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church are treasured there.

The Moscow Kremlin is on the UNESCO list of the world cultural and natural heritage.
